Volunteering and Mentorship

Volunteers who wish to work with animals may contact the shelter at (401) 438-8150 or Jim McGee at jmcgee@rispca.com

Within Humane Education, we accept a limited number of high school students each year who wish to work with our Director of Humane Education on their Senior Projects,  independent study, or Internship on a topic related to humane issues affecting animals. Topics must be far more specific than “Animal Cruelty”, and must be pre-approved by the applicant’s school. Because of the high number of requests we receive, please send an email detailing your request to lorna@rispca.com

Current Intern Natasha Rivera

2014’s Intern, Natasha Rivera, organized an awesome fundraiser for the RISPCA. The Woof Factor was a dog talent and fashion show held at the MET school, and all the proceeds benefited the shelter. It is Natasha’s intention to host another Woof Factor in the spring of 2015.
