Foster Care

Every year the RISPCA is inundated with kittens and puppies who are either orphaned or unable to be nursed by their mothers. We have an urgent need for foster care givers, particularly for kittens, to bottlefeed and socialize baby animals before they can come to the shelter for adoption.

We also receive dogs who have had a tough time through neglect or abuse, and who need some time with a caregiver in a quiet home to recuperate from medical issues or gently eased through the necessary training to overcome anxieties and behavior issues from their previous situations.

We regularly offer very thorough training in Foster Kitten Care, and in Rehabilitating Rescued Dogs, and provide training materials and a lot of hands of support. The RISPCA Foster Program provides kitten and puppy milk replacer, bottles, and other necessary supplies.

If you would like to donate supplies, please check out our Foster Care Wish List.

If you are interested in fostering, or if you have kittens or puppies you need to surrender, please contact our Foster Care Coordinator, Lisa Levasseur at lisal@rispca.com

Please fill out the Volunteer Foster Application and drop it off to Lisa at the RISPCA.
