Please Note (as of March 25, 2020):

To do our part in helping to keep our community safe and healthy, The Rhode Island SPCA shelter is closed to the public until further notice. In order to reduce the number of staff members at the shelter, over 30 animals have been adopted into loving homes since March 25th and the rest of our animals have been moved to foster care homes. We have suspended our adoption program until further notice.

We do our best to find the best possible home for each individual animal. Some of the animals may have special needs and may not be a good fit for everyone. Because of this, applications are considered on a “best fit” not “first come” basis. The first step to adopting a cat from the Rhode Island SPCA is filling out a small animal application.

The fee for small animals are as follows:

Rabbits………………………………………….………..… $65/$85pair

Ferrets…………………………………………………….… $40/$50pair

Guinea Pigs………………………………………………… $15/$25pair

Hamsters…………………………………………………… $5/$10pair
