Our shelter is open to visitors and resuming regular hours. Welcome back! When you arrive, you will notice that we’ve put a few new procedures in place to help keep our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. There will be a limit of how many people can enter the shelter at one time. Staff, volunteers and visitors are required to wear face masks at all times. We ask that you practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet apart from each other. Good hygiene is in your hands! Please wash and sanitize regularly.

We have begun to open up our re-homing and adoption program so you will see more animals available for adoption soon. Our staff and animals are really looking forward to seeing you again! If you have any questions, please contact us at info@rispca.com or 401-438-8150.

We do our best to find the best possible home for each individual animal.  The first step to adopting a small animal at the Rhode Island SPCA is filling out a small animal application. You are also welcome to come visit us anytime we are open and meet our staff and the animals personally!

The fee for small animals are as follows:

Rabbits………………………………………….………..… $65/$85pair

Ferrets…………………………………………………….… $40/$50pair

Guinea Pigs………………………………………………… $15/$25pair

Hamsters…………………………………………………… $5/$10pair
