We do our best to find the best possible home for each dog. Some of the dogs may have special needs and may not be a good fit for everyone. Because of this, applications are considered on a “best fit” not “first come” basis. The first step to adopting a pet from the Rhode Island SPCA is filling out a dog adoption application. We review all applications and contact the best fit only.

Prior to having an approved application and scheduling a “meet and greet,” you will only be able to view the dog in the kennel area, so please plan appropriately and manage the expectations of family members, as well as your travel if you are coming some distance.

The cost to adopt an adult dog is $125 and a puppy is $300 (includes pre-payment of spay/neuter and mandatory puppy classes). All of the dogs will be spayed/neutered, up to date on routine shots and a receive a free collar and leash from our friends at Up Country.
