Please Note (as of March 25, 2020):

To do our part in helping to keep our community safe and healthy, The Rhode Island SPCA shelter is closed to the public until further notice. In order to reduce the number of staff members at the shelter, over 30 animals have been adopted into loving homes since March 25th and the rest of our animals have been moved to foster care homes. We have suspended our adoption program until further notice.

The first step to adopting a cat from the Rhode Island SPCA is to come right down to the shelter and visit with our cats! Applications can be submitted in person at the Rhode Island SPCA at 186 Amaral St. in Riverside, RI. We do not accept online applications for cats at this time.

The cost to adopt an adult cat is $100 and a kitten is $150. All of the cats will be spayed/neutered and up to date on routine shots before being adopted. If the kitten is not of age to be spay/neutered, a spay/neuter deposit will apply.

For questions, please contact our cat room manager Cathy at cathy@rispca.com or (401) 438-8150.
